As expected, 2025 has been a mixed year for Bollywood so far and almost a repeat of 2024. With over 110 Bollywood films released in the first seven months of 2025 (January - July), a mere 24 were released on OTT, while the remaining had theatrical releases. From August 2025 to December 2025, a thrilling ride for Bollywood lovers with some of the biggest stars and a blend of sequels, tentpoles, comedies, and thrillers is lined up for release. Here’s a round-up of the most anticipated Bollywood releases from July to December 2025:
Top 5 Successes of 2025, So Far:
- Chhaava (14 Feb), 600.10 Cr: Director Laxman Utekar’s Vicky Kaushal starrer biopic, period, and costume drama got the cash registers ringing, making it the highest box office grosser of 2025 so far.
- Saiyaara (18 July), 300.00 Cr+: With hardly any promotions before release, Mohit Suri wanted his film to do the talking. Aneet Padda and Ahaan Panday’s magic worked wonders for this romantic musical, which is expected to earn more than 300 Cr.
- Raid 2 (01 May), 178.08 Cr: Director Raj Kumar Gupta’s Ajay Devgn – Riteish Deshmukh face-off was a slow starter but picked up momentum due to word-of-mouth to emerge as the third highest grosser of 2025.
- Housefull 5 (06 Jun), 160.72 Cr: Sajid Nadiadwala’s franchise was one of the most awaited multi-starrers of the year, which somehow managed to do above-average business. The ‘two climax’ movie stands in fourth position in terms of box office collections.
- Sitaare Zameen Par (20 Jun), 160.62 Cr: A comeback movie for Aamir Khan, who was desperately looking to stay afloat after the disastrous LSC. Despite negative reviews, the sports drama directed by R.S. Prasanna qualified as a hit, making it the fifth highest earner of 2025.

Upcoming Biggies of 2025:
- Son of Sardaar 2 (1 August): Ajay Devgn brings back the masala with Son of Sardaar 2, a sequel to the 2012 hit. Packed with Punjabi humour, action, and drama, it’s expected to cater to mass audiences across the heartland.

- 120 Bahadur (18 November): Farhan Akhtar’s biopic war drama based on Major Shaitan Singh PVC, who bravely fought the Battle of Rezang La in 1962 along with his 120 soldiers before attaining martyrdom.
- Dhurandhar (5 Dec): Director Aditya Dhar’s explosive action-thriller starring Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Akshaye Khanna, and R. Madhavan.
- Alpha (24 Dec): YRF’s first female-led spy thriller starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh alongside Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol—set for a Christmas bang.
