Mumtaz Shanti was an Indian actress who appeared in several Bollywood movies in the 1940s and 1950s. She started her career with the romantic drama Basant (1942), directed by Amiya Chakrabarty. She was at the peak of her career when she appeared in super hit films - Kismet (1943) alongside Ashok Kumar and Ghar Ki Izzat (1948) alongside Dilip Kumar. Other films featuring Mumtaz Shanti are Lady Doctor (1944), Magadhraj (1946), Heer Ranjha (1948), Ghar Ki Izzat (1948), etc. She was married to writer-director Wali Sahib and the couple had two sons, Sikander Wali and Zafar Iqbal.
