Indian cinema is incomplete without mentioning the doyen and showman of Bollywood, Raj Kapoor. Born to actor Prithviraj Kapoor, Raj Kapoor was an actor, editor, producer and director of immense popularity who churned out movies with a social message. He made his first screen appearance as a child artiste in Inquilab in 1935 and later went on to make his adult debut in 1947 in Neel Kamal. He is known for setting up his RK Studio and direct his first film Aag at a very young age of 23. A recipient of many prestigious awards including the Dada Saheb Phalke award just before his death, his contribution to Indian cinema is hard to surpass.
