Shobhna Samarth was an Indian actress, director and producer. She started her career in Bollywood during the early talkie movies days. She started her acting career in Bollywood with the 1935 film Orphans of Society. This was followed by her roles in other films like Do Diwane (1936), Kokila (1937), Vijay Lakshmi (1943), Veer Kunal (1945), Malika (1947), Chitralekha (1964), and Do Chor (1972). She married Indian filmmaker Kumarsen Samarth and they had five children including famous actresses Nutan and Tanuja. She directed and produced a few movies to launch her daughters, Nutan and Tanuja, in Bollywood, however, eventually, she disappeared from the Indian film industry.
