Jaat is an action thriller drama set in the state of Andhra Pradesh in the year 2009 where Ranatunga (Randeep Hooda), a poor labourer gets some gold biscuits left behind by the Jaffna Tiger Force (JTF) who ends its rule in Sri Lanka. Though the Sri Lankan army tries to stop Ranatunga from retaining it but he kills them and escapes to arrive in Andhra Pradesh, India. Soon, he establishes a criminal empire of his in and around the village of Motupalli where the locals are terrified of his terror and power. Ranatunga’s tyranny spreads like fire as even the authorities fear acting against him. In the present day, a mysterious man who is called as the Jaat (Sunny Deol) enters the village of Motupalli and bashes up Ranatunga’s men single-handedly. The mysterious man’s power leads him to Ram Subba Reddy, a local politician and Somulu (Viineet Kumar Siingh) who is the younger brother of Ranatunga. The mysterious man takes on the power of Ranatunga and gets into the bad books of one of the most dangerous men in the country. Who is this mysterious Jaat and for what is he here in the village, forms the remaining part of the film.
