Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh is based on true events that took place on the 13 April, 1919 at the Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar where General Dyer killed thousands of innocent peaceful Indians protestors against the Rowlatt Act. The press is censored from talking about it and to calm down the criticism, the British government sets up an enquiry commission headed by Sir C. Sankaran Nair (Akshay Kumar) who is the only Indian in this commission. He begins the inquiry and realizes that the British are trying to suppress facts and hence decides to go to court and sue General Dyer for genocide. In an unexpected move, the British appoints Neville McKinley (R. Madhavan) as the defence lawyer. Sankaran and Neville have an unpleasant past but decide to fight it out in the court. What happens next forms the rest of the film.
