Rukhsat is a romantic action drama. The movie follows the story of a young man named Arjun Rai (Mithun Chakraborty), an auto mechanic, who falls in love with a wealthy girl named Sapna (Anuradha Patel). However, Sapna’s father wants her to get married to a rich guy. Arjun opens his own garage, and works really hard and saves some money, but when he goes to Sapna’s house to propose to her for marriage, he’s thrown out of the house by her father and sent to prison. Heartbroken Sapna moves to the US to live with her aunt, who convinces her to get married to Gautam. Destined to meet again, nine years later, Sapna and Arjun meet, but this time under different circumstances. Arjun is assigned to assassinate Sapna’s husband Gautam. The question remains, will Sapna be able to save her husband from her former lover?
