Saajan Ka Ghar is a romantic drama. The movie revolves around a young girl named Laxmi (Juhi Chawla), the daughter of a poor and greedy man named Dhanraj (Anupam Kher). Laxmi’s mother died while giving birth to her, and since then she was blamed for her mother’s death. Laxmi only got hatred from her father and step-mother. Later, she is married to an army officer named Amar (Rishi Kapoor) and soon gets pregnant but she has a miscarriage. The doctor informs Amar that Laxmi’s body won’t be able to carry a child and pregnancy might kill. Amar, who immensely loves his wife, decides not to tell this to anyone. Meanwhile, Amar’s mother makes Laxmi’s life hell and plots to get her killed. Will Laxmi ever get the love and respect from her family?
