Tanu Weds Manu is a romantic musical drama that revolves around an NRI doctor, Manu (R. Madhavan), and a fun-loving girl, Tanu (Kangana Ranaut). Manu comes to India to find a suitable bride for himself. In India, he meets Tanu and falls in love with her. Tanu and Manu develop a friendship when they attend the wedding of their common friends. When Tanu asks Manu for his help in eloping with her boyfriend Raja (Jimmy Sheirgill), he is heartbroken. However, with time Manu and Tanu get closer, and love starts to ignite between the two.
