Based on Anuja Chauhan’s 2008 novel The Zoya Factor, the story is that of a young girl named Zoya Solanki (Sonam Kapoor) who works for a reputed advertising agency but is on the verge of being fired if she doesn’t handle her last assignment properly. She is given the task of working closely with the Indian cricket team on a brand campaign and discovers that she has become the lucky charm for their winning spree. Zoya meets Nikhil Khoda (Dulquer Salmaan), the captain of the Indian cricket team who she falls for but the latter doesn’t believe in her lucky charm or any superstitions of the sort. However, her association with the Indian Cricket Team creates history when they win the World Cup.
